We are a group of college students at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry who are going to be trying something new in our writing class. Environmental awareness is something we would like to spread, so we are going to be publishing weekly installations about the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. We will be posting pictures and writing about some of the problems that the Park faces today.

Element 5: Recreation in the Adirondacks


How to Pack for a Winter Hike:
For our final element we made a short video highlighting some things you should know for going on a winter backpacking trip. It was the first time we did any video editing and it was shot with a cell phone, so bear with us on this one folks.

We're also asking participants to tweet their favorite picture of time that they've spent in the Adirondacks. Tweet the pictures using #nifkin #blueline and we'll make a storify of everyone's pictures on Thursday. Remember to say where in the ADK your pictures are from!
