We are a group of college students at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry who are going to be trying something new in our writing class. Environmental awareness is something we would like to spread, so we are going to be publishing weekly installations about the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. We will be posting pictures and writing about some of the problems that the Park faces today.

Element 1: Adirondack History

Hey everyone! This is the first of five installments that we'll be posting on the blog about the Adirondacks. For those of you that aren't as familiar with the Adirondack region, we've decided to have our first element be a history of the region, with a particular focus on the history of the Adirondack Park. You can find some valuable information about everything from when the Park was first started to the current management and recreational uses available in the Park today on our Google Doc:
Adirondack History

After you've brushed up on your history, feel free to play our game, Who Wants to be a Millionaire: Adirondack Edition! (After clicking the link below, hit the present button in the top right hand corner to start the game.)
